ICF STARTS SUPPLYING AXLE COUNTERS WITH BUS NETWORK CONNECTION AT THE STATION OF CHAMARTIN
ICF, a Spanish railway signalling technology company, put into service last March the AC-900 Axle Counter System at the Chamartín Station, the core of railway transport in Spain. T he aforementioned system has been developed and 100% validated by ICF. Its manufacturing and verification are carried out entirely in Spain and is exported throughout the world.
The major remodelling project of the Station includes the modification of the safety facilities through the installation of 53 Axle Counters to replace the existing track circuits, a basic SIL4 safety element of railway signalling.
The AC-900 system is the first in the world that allows the connection of track sensors to a bus, which translates into savings of up to 80% in cables, civil works and engineering with the consequent reduction in execution times.
